Introduction — DoC Checking Service for the EMC Directive

The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is a legally binding document which denotes that the apparatus referred to meets the essential protection requirements of all applicable Directives. All CE-marking Directives further require the DoC to be signed by someone empowered to bind the manufacturer or his authorised representative.

Failure to meet Conformity Assessment Requirements is, under UK law, a criminal offence. Further, should Trading Standards, or indeed one of your customers, suspect that a DoC is invalid, this may lead to a more detailed assessment of the apparatus to which it refers. For both existing and potential customers, this could result in them opting not to buy it.

How might a DoC be invalid?

if so, your DoC should be reviewed.
